Scholastic Books has announced their March Read-Aloud Fridays. March 7 at 2pm ET is Diane Alber, author of “Never Let a Unicorn Scribble”; March 28 at 11:30am ET is one of our favorites! Stacy McAnulty author of some of the children’s favorite books including “Pluto!”, “Sun!”, “Moon!” etc. Also on March 28 at 2pm ET

We successfully delivered 175 bags of books to first graders at 3 schools before Christmas/Winter Break last year. That is 700 books! We hope they are enjoying reading to their animal “pals”! We are now gearing up for our next delivery in May.

Every Friday, Scholastic hosts a read along with different authors. They usually have a theme and it gives children (and families) the opportunity to meet their favorite authors. We recently delivered the literacy bags for the new school year to our 3 partner schools! We packed and delivered 179 bags – that’s 537 books! We hope the children who received the books, workbooks and stuffed animal “Pal” will spend time reading while developing a love of reading as well as improving their skills

The last bags have been delivered to the kids! We have received thank you notes, which are always fun to get. One school said it has become a highlight in first grade to receive these bags. We will post pictures of some of the thank you notes soon. We were able to provide 120 children
